On Monday it was like 100 degrees and raining. About 8 inches of rain on Tuesday. So much rain, there was flooding on Independence Blvd (right outside my bedroom window) and I didn't notice. But that would explain the yellow tape all around my apt complex and the dumpster on the car across the street (!). http://www.wbtv.com/Global/story.asp?S=8910051 http://www.wsoctv.com/news/17308756/detail.html

Apparently, the classes I teach are the LAST classes that most students need to graduate and THE ONLY ONE which fits into their schedule.

After holding out for two years, I'm going to start paying for cable tv and internet. So many students trying to add into full classes. Getting easier to say no

The Week That Was Saturday: Took the FlyAwayBus from Union Station to LAX. Spent the day flying into Charlotte. Reading The Blind Side by Michael Lewis. Landed in Charlotte. Realized I left the keys to my apartment in Los Angeles. Sunday: Rested at a motel. Monday: The rental office opened and gave me another set of keys. Went to work. Tuesday: Harbor College called. They wanted me to come in for an interview with the President and VP. Thought about it. Wednesday: Called Harbor College. Asked about a possible phone interview. They offered to video conference. I looked up the cost of tickets at sidestep.com. Prices were comparable to what I paid in the summer. Set up the interview for Monday. Purchased the plane ticket. Thursday: President's Meeting at CPCC ran two and a half hours long. Division meeting for another hour. Harbor College left a message for me. I called Harbor back. They lost their position and several sections due to budget cuts. Got my money back for the plane ticket. (Northwest Airlines) Went to walmart. Bought a deep fryer, beer mugs, and a shower curtain liner.
